At Missouri State: Matt Frevert began his Missouri State career with a solid freshman season, leading the team with 20 relief appearances a year ago. He will see action in the same role in 2007 and showed ability in the fall to take over the closer spot as well.

Led the team in relief appearances with 20 ... Finished the year with a 4-2 record and 4.15 ERA ... Struck out 49 batters in 39 innings, and his 11.31 K/9 ratio led the pitching staff ... Threw five innings of one-hit ball at Southeast Missouri State (3/22) ... Picked up seven strikeouts in 2.2 innings against Saint Louis (3/29) ... Earned wins against Evansville (4/1), UNI (4/9), Arkansas (4/11) and Southern Illinois (4/21).

A pitching standout at Hallsville High, Matt Frevert garnered three first-team MSHSBCA selections and one honorable mention pick ... His 10-1 record, 0.99 ERA, and 149 strikeouts in his senior season led the Hallsville Indians to their second straight Missouri Class 2A state championship ... As a junior, Frevert set new school records for RBIs (40), appearances (15), pitching victories (11), and innings pitched (67.1) ...
